Creative Ideas for More Intimate Wedding Photos

Want your wedding photos to showcase warmth and intimacy?

I know what your'e thinking...

"Uh... DUH"

Alright, alright.

Let's get into some of my many ideas on how to create those special and intimate moments to be captured forever by my camera:

Share a Private First Look

Have your soon-to-be husband turn around and see you in your dress before the ceremony. Him seeing you looking so beautiful will bring tears to his eyes, and your tears will soon follow.

Write a Letter to Each Other

Write a letter to each other days before the wedding expressing your love and commitment for one another. On the morning of your wedding, take a seat in a room by yourself, open the letter and let your photographer capture the flow of emotions that unfold.

Private Moment After Ceremony

After the wedding, walk off to a secluded area of the venue and take a few moments to alone together to savor that newlywed feeling.

Engage with Guests

Your family and friends are there to have a great time, and they love it whenever you're there to have fun with them. On such a busy day, it's important to set time aside to talk to everyone and bust a move together on the dance floor.

Use Natural Light

Lighting can play a huge part in the atmosphere of your wedding. Choosing a location with lots of windows, or out outdoor venue with soft lighting creates a soft, warm and gentle touch to every photo taken.

Plan Your Portraits for Golden Hour

Golden hour is a photographers favorite part of the day. Sunset time depends on the time of year your wedding is taking place, but try to schedule your couples portrait session 30-60 minutes before sunset.

Write Your Own Vows

Write your own vow or speeches that express deep feelings for each other. These heartfelt words will lead to emotional and intimate moments that you will want to relive over and over again through the images your photographer captures.
